SCOTLAND’S half-man, half-Xbox, hormone-ridden comic prodigy Daniel Sloss plays York tomorrow when the Hyena Lounge switches from its usual Sunday slot to accommodate his tour schedule.
Sloss started doing stand-up at only 16, making his Edinburgh debut in 2008, where he made the final of the nationwide So You Think You’re Funny? competition. After his 2009 Edinburgh Fringe run in Teenage Kicks, his national television debut came that September as the first stand-up to perform on Channel 4’s Paul O’Grady Show that September.
This was followed by his London debut, making him the youngest stand-up to play solo at the Soho Theatre and in the West End. He has since appeared on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, 8 Out Of 10 Cats and The Rob Brydon Show, as well as starring in his own BBC3 sitcom, The Adventures Of Daniel.
This year he has won the best new comedian prize at the Scottish Variety Awards, toured Singapore, Bali and Malaysia and appeared for the second time at the Sydney Comedy Festival, in Australia, where extra shows had to be added.
Now, he is on the road with his 2011 Edinburgh Fringe show, The Joker. For tickets, phone 0871 902 5726 or book online at thebasementyork.co.uk
