MILTON Jones, “the weird bloke with the shirts” from BBC2’s Mock The Week, is to perform his latest live show, Milton Jones: Lion Whisperer, at the Grand Opera House, York, on February 2 next year.

This surrealist wordsmith and king of the one-liners is the voice of eight series on BBC Radio 4, including The Very World Of Milton Jones and Another Case Of Milton Jones, and has turned up on The Michael McIntyre Roadshow on BBC1 too.

What lies in store in Milton Jones: Lion Whisperer? “Well, it’s his new show with new stuff, not in his last show. YouTube him or something,” says his press blurb.

Jones will complete a hat trick of York venues by playing the Grand Opera House next year, having earlier appeared at the Theatre Royal in April 2008 and The Basement at City Screen, York, last October.
