Jimmy Carr is heading for yet another sell-out night of Rapier Wit at the Grand Opera House, York.
Only 14 tickets were still available for Sunday’s 8pm performance at the time of going to press, but if you miss out on this weekend’s show, Carr kindly has added a further date on May 11: his fourth performance of Rapier Wit in York, following two last autumn.
Likewise, Liverpool wag John Bishop will follow up his sold-out Opera House debut next Wednesday at 8pm with a second show there on May 3, and tickets are so in demand once more that only restricted-view seats are still available.
How quickly his star has risen when you consider that Bishop’s original York commitment for 2010 was at the small Basement bar at City Screen on February 28, a gig that fell by the wayside once his television appearances proliferated. Box office: 0844 847 2322 or www.grandoperahouseyork.org.uk
