Rory Bremner Election Battlebus, Harrogate Theatre, April 15

THE Rory Bremner Election Battlebus will park up at Harrogate Theatre on April 15 at 8pm as one of 12 stops on the impressionist’s first stand-up tour in five years.

Tickets go on sale on Tuesday morning for the pre-election broadside from the “one-man opposition party”, who has been at the forefront of British political comedy for two decades.

In the run-up to polling day (come on Gordon, we all know it will be May 6), Rory will give his take on the characters and events dominating the news, calling on his gamut of impressions, political and non-political. He also promises the chance to involve surprise guests in a question-and-answer session in the second half.

Bremner has been a mainstay of Channel 4’s comedy output since 1992, in cahoots with John Bird and John Fortune on his satirical programmes Rory Bremner – Who Else and Bremner, Bird And Fortune.

The trio regularly produces special editions, including a trilogy on Iraq, a series on the rise and fall of New Labour and a four-part satirical documentary on the global financial crisis, Silly Money.

Rory is a frequent guest on BBC1’s The Andrew Marr Show on Sunday-morning, where he provides a satirical review of political events through his multifarious characters.

Tickets for April 15 cost £16.50 on 01423 502116 or online at harrogatetheatre.co.uk
