COLIN Cole is one of the biggest names in comedy in his own country, Australia. Not only is he 6ft 7ins, but he also is known for his dynamic performances, his fast and furious delivery and the range of his topical and observational material.

On February 9, the giant Aussie headlines the Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club at York Barbican with support from Josh Pugh and Jay Handley, introduced by master of ceremonies Damion Larkin.

Cole has starred in such Australian hit television shows as Hey Hey, The Max Gillies Show and Bingles and toured extensively in the United States, Canada and Hawaii, now adding Britain to his gig diary.

Josh Pugh won the Funhouse gong show in his first ever gig in 2014 in the West Midlands, later taking home the Birmingham Comedy Festival Breaking Talent Award and Nottingham Comedy Festival New Act of the Year Award in 2015. "Josh has a unique, interesting and funny voice with a very exciting future," says Larkin.

Jay Handley meditates on single life in his 20s, finding love in his 30s, politics, religion and his bemusement at the modern world, all in a relaxed, almost Zen-like laidback style.

Further Laugh Out Loud shows will follow at York Barbican on March 9 and April 13. Tickets for each 8pm bill cost £17 on 0844 854 2757 or at yorkbarbican.co.uk or £20 on the door from 7.30pm.
