THE Burning Duck Comedy Club is playing host to a series of Free Fringe shows at the Great Yorkshire Fringe in York.

Promoter Al Greaves presents 8.45pm showcases in the White Rose Rotunda, Parliament Street, tonight and tomorrow, followed by a 10pm slot in the Tea Pot on Friday and three Tea Pot showcases on Sunday at 5.30pm, 7pm and the festival finale at 8.30pm.

Keep an eye on the Burning Duck website or stroll up the festival village green to find out who will be performing, but confirmed so far are Jed Salisbury as tonight's compere; 2017 Great Yorkshire Fringe New Comedian of the Year finalist Edy Hurst for Friday; improv group Discount Comedy Checkout at Sunday's first show and Sean Morley previewing his 2017 Edinburgh Fringe show, Earned Helplessness, at the second.

"Expect to see some acts you may already have seen at Burning Duck's regular nights at the Black Swan and The Basement at City Screen, as well as more new favourites, some of whom you might have enjoyed on the radio, TV or even winning awards at the Edinburgh and Great Yorkshire Fringe festivals," says Al.

Meanwhile, Hyena Lounge Comedy Club promoter Toby Clouston Jones will present triple bills of Gary Delaney, Tom Wrigglesworth and Andre Vincent in the White Rose Rotunda on Friday at 8.45pm and Delaney, Wrigglesworth and David Morgan in the Shed on Saturday at 8.30pm.

Guaranteed entry for the Burning Duck showcases can be booked for £3 at greatyorkshirefringe.com or on 01904 500600; alternatively, admission is free with a bucket collection at the end. Hyena Lounge tickets are on sale through the same channels.
