YORK Barbican will be alive with The Sound Of Mucus when Count Arthur Strong presents his latest touring show on May 19.

Fresh from donkey’s years on his award-winning BBC Radio 4 sitcom series and the success of his BBC television show, the Count returns to doing what he does best: this show!

Using stories and other things that are secret, Count Arthur Strong pays tribute to one of the best musicals he can remember, "uniquely recreating the salient and poignant moments for your enjoyment. Plus something else".

Count Arthur Strong will be supported on stage by Terry Kilkelly as Malcolm de Tinsel, from Count Arthur Strong's Radio Show! and Dave Plimmer, who features in Count Arthur Strong on BBC1, as Allan Leslie.

"If you only buy one ticket for something this year, buy a ticket for this one twice and bring a friend," says the Count, the comic creation of Leeds character actor Steve Delaney. "I promise you, you won’t regret it. And if you do, there must be something wrong with you. No refunds."

After Count Arthur Strong’s Radio Show! won the British Comedy Guide Award for Best Radio Sitcom of 2016, he is mounting his largest tour to date in a year when he released the live DVD and download, Count Arthur Strong’s Command Performance, in February.

Tickets for his 8pm show on May 19 are on sale on 0844 857 2757, at yorkbarbican.co.uk or in person from the Barbican box office.
