STEVE Harris will headline tomorrow's Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club night at York Barbican, topping an 8pm bill also featuring Tom Lucy, Colin Cole and regular host Damion Larkin.

Harris first leapt on stage in 1998 and within three months he had won the coveted North-West Comedian of the Year Award, following in the footsteps of Peter Kay, John Bishop and Jason Manford. Like that trio, he has the asset of likeability, a characteristic that has seen Peter Kay, Johnny Vegas and Lee Evans all ask him to be their support act on tour.

Harris, who has played gigs in places as flung as Hong Kong, Australia, and Dubai, is "a master of the obvious and a Ninja of the not so obvious, who'll hit you so hard with a punch line you won’t know where it’s come from".

Tom Lucy is the youngest comedian ever to play professionally at the Comedy Store in London and at only 18 years old is one of the youngest comedians working on the British circuit. Having first tried stand-up at the age of 16, he now performs regularly at top comedy clubs and in the past six months he has supported Jack Whitehall and Harry Hill on tour.

Colin Cole is one of the biggest acts in Australian comedy: not only is he 6ft 7ins tall, but he has a dynamism to match too. His delivery is fast and furious, his material ranges from the topical to the observational, and after touring extensively in the United States, Canada and Hawaii, now he is taking Britain by storm.

The next Laugh Out Loud Comedy show will be on March 24. Tickets for tomorrow's gig are on sale at £17 on 0844 854 2757 and at yorkbarbican.co.uk or at £20 on the door from 7.30pm.
