MILTON Jones is Out There but not until next autumn when the absurdist comic will play York, Harrogate, Leeds and Hull as he takes Milton’s manifesto of nonsense to Yorkshire and the nation at large.

Dates for the 2017 diary are York Barbican, September 30; Harrogate Theatre, October 22; Leeds Town Hall, November 17, and Hull City Hall, December 1.

After his 2015 tour, Milton Jones and The Temple Of Daft, played to 100,000 people at 170 dates, the weaver of one liners and wearer of flamboyant holiday shirts will cast a philosophical eye over his life so far and offer his thoughts on giving it all up to seek the highest office in the land. "But how do you get a desk and a swivel chair up a mountain?" he asks.

As Milton runs for Prime Minister, he poses the question, "Can we really do worse than the politicians we already have?" and he duly decides "Yes, we can."

Audiences will see "Milton holding up the mirror of truth to society, and he can see right through it, which probably means it’s just a window. He'll also be putting his foot down and lifting the lid on the media’s pedal bin of lies and scaling the heights of fashion, at the risk of falling into a terrible cravat."

The pun-toting Jones himself says: "I’m excited to be back ‘out there’ on the road and discussing my life so far: the ups, the downs and why buying my own see-saw was the best decision I ever made.”

Milton Jones is a regular panellist on BBC2's Mock The Week and has ten BBC Radio 4 series to his name, the latest commission being Thanks A Lot Milton Jones!.
