GARY Delaney, master of the humorous one-liner, headlines the second edition of the new York comedy night, Love Comedy Live, at Haxby Sports Bar on November 24.

"After our successful launch night back in September with Mick Ferry, Silky, Lauren Pattison and Dan Nightingale, we received such great feedback from our audience," says promoter Phil Smith "We're really excited with the line-up for our second night before we have Christmas off.

"Topping the bill will be Gary Delaney, a regular on Mock The Week and an act that I've been a huge fan of for some time. He's one of my all-time favourites and I'm really happy to have the chance to bring him to Haxby."

The rest of the line-up is just as strong, reckons Phil. "The night will be hosted by the Edinburgh Fringe award-winning Phil Ellis and the opening act will be Danny Deegan. Danny is a fantastic act who I have had the pleasure of gigging with on several occasions and I know our audience will enjoy his act as much as I do."

Carrying on Love Comedy Live's desire to showcase new talent, the middle section will be given over to Rivka Uttley and Stanley Brooks, both winners of the intimidating King Gong in Manchester. "Rivka made the final of Funny Women, where she was mentored by Zoe Lyons, and she also did the Laugh At Leeds comedy course," says Phil. "She's part of my comedy family and she's a fantastic act who's going to do great things.

"Stanley Brooks, who looks very much like local lad Lewis Dunn, is another act I'm a huge fan of. We competed together in the Leicester Square New Comedian semi-final and Stanley – alongside Lauren Pattison, who performed at Love Comedy Live’s first night – blew the roof off and will be competing in the final three days after he performs in Haxby."

Doors open at 7pm for the 7.30pm start at Haxby Sports Bar, North Lane, Haxby. Tickets cost £10 at aspireeventproduction.co.uk/event, via the Love Comedy Live Facebook page or on 07525 189410.
