THE Hyena Lounge Comedy Club may no longer be laughing in York, but Toby Clouston Jones has long been running the club at Harrogate Theatre too. After a short summer break spent basking in the sunshine on the Stray, he resumes the regular night there with a Saturday line-up to "rival the big London clubs".

"Over the past 20 years the list of acts that have played the Hyena Lounge reads like a who’s who of comedy: from John Bishop to Sarah Millican, Mickey Flannigan to Russell Howard, Ross Noble to Alan Carr, and within the past 12 months alone the likes of Katherine Ryan, Stephen K Amos and Chris Ramsey," says Toby. "Saturday's show will feature, as usual, four of the best comedians in the country."

Taking part in the 8pm gig will be Justin Moorhouse, one of the stars of Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights and a regular contributor to BBC Radio Five Live's Fighting Talk.

Steve Williams comes to Harrogate fresh from spending August at the Edinburgh Fringe, where he performed in a double headliner show alongside Russell Howard. "He never fails to surprise and engage audiences with his hybrid of bizarre stories, larger-than-life physicality, spontaneous improvisation and his off-the-wall take on everyday life," says Toby.

Vince Atta mixes well-honed material with improvisational skills as he uses cutting-edge technology to create live on-the-spot songs, fusing this with natural stand-up, storytelling and characters.

Katie Mulgrew arrives in Harrogate after supporting The Boy With Tape On His Face on his latest tour, She has a play in development with the Liverpool Royal Court Theatre after winning the Liverpool Hope Playwriting Prize; has appeared on CBBC's The Dog Ate My Homework and writes for BBC Radio Four's News Quiz. "On stage, her dulcet Northern tones hide a ferocious brain and her inquisitive audience banter is a joy to behold," says Toby.
