MITCH Benn, Russell Kane and Justin Moorhouse will kick off Hull Truck Theatre's autumn and winter season with a hattrick of comedy shows in September.

"I'm a sceptic. But don't take my word for it. Or indeed anybody's. For anything," says musical satirist Mitch Benn, introducing the basic premise of his new show, Don't Believe A Word, in which he debunks myths, exposes nonsense and grapples with the very nature of knowledge itself on September 17 at 8pm. Expect comedy rock songs too from the host of BBC Radio 4's Mitch Benn Is The 37th Beatle.

Russell Kane: "No one is ever the ‘right’ age"

In Russell Kane's new show, Right Man, Wrong Age, on September 20 at 7.30pm, he contemplates both growing up and growing down. "Are you 16 years old, yet feel 21?," asks Kane. "Are you 40, but tragically faking 25? Or maybe you’re full-on 80 years, with the heart of three oxen and the sex drive of a bonobo chimp? Don’t worry: this is normal. No one is ever the ‘right’ age. It's the beauty and the curse of being a real person."

Phoenix Nights star and northern charmer Justin Moorhouse is returning to the road after "having a think about people. And feelings. About people Justin knows, their feelings and how he feels about them. And they about him". No surprise then that Moorhouse is calling his new tour People And Feelings, booked into Hull Truck for September 23 at 7.30pm.
