ONCE he has extracted that infernal lobster from his mouth, lanky Sheffield comic Tom Wrigglesworth will open the Saturday Night Lounge bill at The Duchess, in Stonebow, York on Saturday night.

"You've seen him on Russell Howard’s Good News, 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown and numerous self-titled series on Radio 4, and now Tom makes a very welcome return to our club," says Hyena Lounge Comedy Club promoter Toby Clouston-Jones.

"Alongside his comedy work, he’s used his engineering background to become a natural and engaging presenter for BBC Television and the Discovery Channel, and he's also known for his uncanny resemblance to record-breaking NFL quarter-back Aaron Rodgers. Tom even visited Green Bay to meet his doppleganger and a short movie by NFL Films covering his trip became a massive viral Youtube hit."

Saturday's 8pm show will be headlined by Matt Richardson, presenter of Big Brother’s Bit On The Side and The Xtra Factor alongside Caroline Flack. "He's also appeared on Celebrity Juice, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Sweat The Small Stuff, and as well as his extensive TV work, Matt is preparing for his next solo comedy tour in the spring," says Toby.

"With Johnny Candon returning to take the middle slot and Hyena Lounge regular Sam Avery as your host, it really is a fantastic line-up of comedians this weekend."

Tickets cost £14 on 01904 641413 or at hyenalounge.com or on the door from 7pm.
