RATHER than his regular Saturday Night Lounge, Toby Clouston-Jones has booked The Duchess in York for Hyena Lounge Comedy Club gigs on Friday and Tuesday.

First up, Beardyman follows up his sold-out Edinburgh Fringe runs in 2013 and 2014 with his debut British tour of his improvised One Album Per Hour show. "Travelling at the speed of thought in his music production spaceship, this world-class, multi award-winning musician and comedian transcends mere mimicry to produce studio quality compositions faster than most could imagine them," says Toby.

"The vocal shaman emits and manipulates any conceivable sound with a manic wit that will have you shaking your tail feather as a whole album is created live, based on your suggestions."

Nick Helm: Masterwork In Progress

Doors open at 7pm for Friday's 8pm start, as they will on Tuesday when Nick Helm presents Masterwork In Progress show. "Nick's coming to York to deliver truths about life, love and being a living legend with a bod that don't quit. He says 'Go and see it. Enjoy it. Drink it in. But most importantly, grow as a human'," says Toby.

"This is probably your last chance to see Nick before he gets really, really big. So see him now and then boast to your friends in years to come about how you saw him in the early days, before he sold out, became c**p and went all commercial."

Toby reveals: "We've no idea what the Masterwork In Progress show will be about yet, but if it's anything like the last few years of his career, it'll be a shambolic collection of ramblings that will one day turn into something special."

What is definite is the name of Tuesday's very special guest: David Trent. Tickets for Beardyman and Nick Helm can be booked online at hyenalounge.com
