BILLED in the Fringe programme as “Japanese Techno Kings”, Siro-A are something unusual, but certainly don't disappoint. Their performance, set to music, sees the performers using white screens and projected lights in an innovative and consistently interesting way, delighting and surprising their audience throughout.
The 45 minute performance combines music, dance, comedy and astounding technology, ensuring that the crowd is constantly absorbed in the action, always wondering what is coming next. With a smorgasbord of short acts, there is something for everyone; one minute interpretive dance, the next, Super Mario Bros played with boxes.
Their pop culture references are unfailingly engaging and humorous, flipping from a parody of The Exorcist to Frozen with ease, then on to laser-simulated lightsaber battles and a mock striptease from The Full Monty, set to Tom Jones’s You Can Leave Your Hat On. This segment takes the audience on a whistle-stop tour of the best-known films of the past 50 years, exploring them in an entertaining and wholly original way.

Their interaction and engagement with the audience is unparalleled: at one point, audience members are instructed to make particular sounds on camera, which the performers then run together and turn into a version of Queen’s We Will Rock You.
This futuristic, high-energy fusing of technology, music and the human body captivate the audience, treating them to a riot of the senses; an unexpected but thrilling afternoon.
