THE final leg of pun-toting comedian Gary Delaney’s Purist Tour will bring him to Selby Town Hall on April 18 at 8pm.

Delaney reckons that most comedy shows don’t contain enough jokes and consequently he’s trying single-handedly to redress the balance. “Expect jokes,” says the double Sony Award winner. “Don’t expect narrative, themes or a voyage of self-discovery.”

Delaney is a regular on BBC2’s Mock The Week and has appeared on BBC Radio 5 Live’s 7 Day Saturday, BBC Radio 4’s Loose Ends and BBC3’s Edinburgh Comedy Fest Live.

He has written for such television programmes as 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Mock The Week, 10 O’Clock Live, A League Of Their Own and Stand Up For The Week.

And he remains the only comedian to have two entries listed in Dave’s Top 10 Jokes of the Fringe, which honours the funniest gags of the Edinburgh Festival each year.

His Purist show is not suitable for bairns or sensitive souls and entry is restricted to ages 16 and over.

Tickets are on sale at £13 on 01757 708449, at www.selbytownhall.co.uk or on the door from 7.30pm.
