KATHERINE Ryan returns to the Saturday Night Lounge in York for the second weekend in a row, fresh from appearing on The Jonathan Ross Show.

The Canadian star’s show-opening spot will be followed on Saturday’s 8pm bill by Angus Dunican and headliner Joe Lycett, all introduced by compere Barry Castagnola at The Duchess in Stonebow House.

Katherine is kick-starting 2015 with a handful of club dates before bringing her full-length tour show, Glam Role Model, to the Hyena Lounge Comedy Club on May 6, again at The Duchess, where she is well on the way to a sell-out.

Joe Lycett arrives in York fresh from his triumphant appearance on BBC1’s Live At The Apollo.

“It’s no secret that Joe is a hugely talented up-and-coming comedian with an unaffected, relaxed and effortless stage presence,” says promoter Toby Clouston-Jones.

“Angus Dunican, who takes this weekend’s middle slot, is a master of story-telling comedy. He’s a lively and open-hearted comic who, despite only recently turning 30, has already packed in ten years’ stand-up experience and is a specialist in self-deprecating tales of whimsy with a disarming and friendly stage presence.”

Host Barry Castagnola has an easy-going yet very physical style, mixing personal anecdotes with topical and political comment. Last year, he performed alongside Dom Joly on ITV show Fool Britannia.
