LOOK out for Hyena Lounge Comedy Club favourite Justin Moorhouse in Coronation Street on Sunday, playing Dean Upton, landlord of the Flying Horse, whose pub cricket team play against the Rovers Return in a one-hour special.

Before then, Moorhouse can be seen in the flesh at the Hyena Lounge on Saturday night, opening the 8pm bill at The Duchess in Stonebow House.

He is remembered most fondly for having his face painted like a tiger in Peter Kay's Phoenix Night, whose cast is being lined up to take part in a run of shows for Comic Relief in January at the Phones4u Arena in Manchester. Those shows are to be filmed for future broadcast.

Phil Wang will be headlining Saturday’s gig, hotly tipped for stardom after his Edinburgh Fringe run, while Danish "comedy sensation" Sofie Hagen fills the middle slot.

"Sofie has taken the UK by storm in just the few months she has resided on our sunny shores," says promoter Toby Clouston-Jones.

"Time Out magazine has already declared her ‘One to watch’ and she was nominated for Chortle’s Newcomer of the Year earlier this year, having already won the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year in 2013."

Andre Vincent returns as this weekend's compere. Tickets cost £14 on 01904 641413, at hyenalounge.com or on the door from7pm.
