MILTON Jones, genial king of the one-liner, will enter The Temple Of Daft in his new show, on tour from February 4 to June 26 next year.

Ticket s go on sale tomorrow, Friday the 13th. Such a day may be unlucky for some, but as Jones says: "Being superstitious never stopped me getting lots of splinters. Hopefully I won't get anymore. Touch wood."

Milton's shock of hair and shocking shirts will be visiting Harrogate Royal Hall on February 18, York Barbican on February 19, Leeds Grand Theatre on May 24 and Hull City Hall on June 6, and where else could he finish but Milton Keynes on June 26?

What will the absurdist Milton find in his Temple Of Daft? "If this show is a hat, it would be a crown fit for a king, and covered in rare and precious jokes," say tour publicists Phil McIntyre Entertainments. "The show is a rip-roaring quest to find buried treasure, but will Milton learn that the best treasure is to be found in people’s hearts? Let’s hope not; that would be really dull."

In other words, just expect more newly spun one-liners and comical drawings when Jones returns to York Barbican, where the London-born surrealist performed his 2013 show, On The Road, in both February and October. Two years earlier, he presented Milton Jones, Lion Whisperer no fewer than three times in York at the Grand Opera House, in February, April and October that year.
