FRANK Skinner will be the Man In A Suit in York this autumn on his first stand-up tour in seven years.

Tickets go sale at 10am tomorrow for his November 19 show at the Grand Opera House, where he last played to a full house in October 2007, when The Press reviewer John Wheatcroft commented: "Skinner's comedy ventures so deeply into the realms of the offensive that you're past caring.

"It's a pretty blue act, and you can't help feeling that if he were to lay off some of the laddish sex material he might have a wider appeal, but Skinner's brilliant at observational comedy and fresh takes on familiar subjects.

"There was some nice stuff about his childhood and songs about Islamist terrorism, but then it was back to the self-abuse and the casual sex. In the end, a bit more variety would have added more spice."

Will a smart suit make any difference or can a West Bromwich comedy leopard not change its spots at 57? The answer will come in November, by which time Skinner will have been on the road since April in a show that made its London debut last November at the Soho Theatre, followed quickly by a five-week run at the Leicester Square Theatre.

From tomorrow, £28.50 tickets for his 7.30pm show in York can be booked on 0844 871 3024 or online at atgtickets.com/york
