AFTER Sarah Millican’s two gigs at York Barbican sold out last October, the South Shields comic turn added an extra Home Bird tour date for May 7. Surprise, surprise, the Barbican will now be full for that night of “domestic bliss” with Sarah too.

“In this show, I’m giving up the party scene (Ann Summers), easing off on the drinking (fizzy pop equals wealthy dentists) and settling down (taking my bra off),” she says. “Determined to put down roots, I have a cat (furry baby) and even a tree (I have a lot of mugs).”

During the Home Bird show, the audience will learn what to take on a dirty weekend, acquire tips on how to teach a pensioner to swear and discover the easiest way to blend in when in a posh restaurant.

Sarah, 38, previously played York in March and April 2012, when her Thoroughly Modern Millican show sold out the Grand Opera House on both nights. Doors open at 7pm for Wednesday’s 8pm outing at York Barbican.
