WRITER and comedian Stewart Lee follows up his Carpet Remnant World ventures by serving up a new stew of anti-populist ideas on the road in preparation for his third BBC television series.
Making his York Barbican debut this weekend, the 45-year-old Solihull sage will be mulling over such topics as parental alcoholism, justifiable shoplifting, urban foxes and vasectomies in Much A-Stew About Nothing show.
Anglo Saxon epic poetry, Helena Bonham Carter, The Big Bang and Judith Chalmers will be further subjects on the Lee radar. “See it live so you can begin the backlash ahead of transmission of the TV series,” he says.
