The Danish Kitchen, High Ousegate, York
8:59am Saturday 10th May 2008
A BANK Holiday should be a good test as to how well a café can cope when it is really busy. Much to our surprise, there was plenty of room in the Danish Kitchen when we called in.

Café Rouge, Petergate, York
11:13am Saturday 3rd May 2008
THERE have been occasions in the past 13 years when we have wondered how a snack spot could justify the prices asked in relation to the quality provided.

1:30pm Saturday 26th April 2008

10:34am Saturday 19th April 2008
NESTLING under Monkgate Bar, it was only by chance that I spotted this venue when taking relations on the tourist trail.

The Organic Sandwich Shop, Church Street, York
10:10am Saturday 12th April 2008
HOW often have I walked past this location without noticing yet another sandwich shop? But this time it is a shop with a difference.

Dickinson’s, Tower Street, York
11:43am Saturday 5th April 2008
Assuming that St George's car park is not under water or occupied by a fair, this venue could be the first port of call for visitors to York.

Wilkinson, Clifton Moor Shopping Centre
11:34am Saturday 29th March 2008
ANOTHER shopping emporium and, yes, it has a café. It is spacious, being able to seat about 100 at a time. Tables are well spread out and wheelchair access to the servery and within the seating area is good.

The Terrace, Barkers Furniture Store, Northallerton
10:14am Saturday 15th March 2008
NORTHALLERTON is an attractive little town, always bustling on market days.

St Sampson Centre, Church Street, York
11:34am Saturday 8th March 2008
AFTER our celebratory snack last week, I chose a more modest spot on this occasion.

Harlequins
3:40pm Saturday 1st March 2008
Graeme Robertson visits Harlequins in York for his 500th review.

The Arches Coffee Lounge, Wetherells, Selby
10:47am Saturday 23rd February 2008
Graeme Robertson heads south to Selby for a tasty snack
