THE fourth annual York Literature Festival has started with two weeks of readings, book signings and writers’ group meetings to celebrate every aspect of the written word.
The event began yesterday and attractions included author Adrianna J Odasso reading from her new poetry collection Lost Books and poets, storytellers, songwriters and musicians participating in an open-mic night at The Rook &Gaskill Pub, in Lawrence Street.
York-based poet, writer, musician and all-round performer Miles Cain will be one of the star attractions of today’s programme when he performs a selection of songs and poems at the Oxfam Bookshop, in Low Petergate.
On Thursday, best-selling author Kate Atkinson will be speaking at York St John University at 7pm.
