CYCLISTS in York are being urged to embark on new guided rides around the city as part of any New Year’s fitness resolutions.
The timetable for the routes is now available from City of York Council reception points, leisure centres, libraries and other venues, while copies can also be downloaded from cyclingcityyork.org.uk
Loretta Spyers-Ashby, cycling activity officer, said: “There’s a ride to suit everybody and copies of our new programme are widely available, so it really couldn’t be easier to make cycling your New Year’s resolution.
“Cycling with others as part of a group is lots of fun and a great way to build your confidence and fitness levels if you haven’t cycled for some time.
We’ve got rides specifically for women, some aimed at families with young children and plenty which are suited to older people.”
All the rides are free and cater for different ability levels with most including a refreshment stop.
More information is available by phoning Loretta on 01904 553440 or emailing loretta.spyers-ashby@york.gov.uk
