A NEW-LOOK website aimed at getting more people in York on their bikes has been launched.
The guide to cycling-related activity throughout the city includes information, tips and first-person accounts from cyclists about their pedalling experiences in York.
It can be found at cyclingcityyork.org.uk and contains details of events run by the Cycling City York project, courses and activities, advice on choosing a bike and necessary equipment, and hints to ensure bikes are kept safe.
Graham Titchener, Cycling City York programme manage, said: “We’ve worked closely with York-based firms Bivouac Design Solutions and Semlyen IT Consultants to develop a website which not only looks great but is also really easy to use.
“We’ve tried to cover every cycling-related topic which people living in, working in or visiting York could possibly need to know about, and hope it will be a really useful resource for people of all ages and all levels of cycling ability.”
The website boasts pages both for teenagers and over-45s who are looking to get back into the saddle, as well as updates on Cycling City initiatives.
Comments and suggestions can be sent to cycling.city@york.gov.uk
