Singer Ronan Keating surprised guests with a performance at Global media and entertainment group’s annual Make Some Noise charity evening.

Ronan joined a star-studded list of performers, including X Factor judge Rita Ora and X Factor presenter and singer Olly Murs.

The event, hosted at London’s Supernova, saw celebrities and musicians uniting for the charity, set up by Global, which aims to give a voice to smaller charities and projects who struggle to be heard.

The former Boyzone singer said: “When I was asked to do it I was delighted, the event last year raised a lot of money and where the money goes is incredibly important, for those charities that don’t have the opportunity to raise money like this, almost forgotten charities in a way, it’s important that Global do what they do.”

For the second year in a row, Global united its radio brands – Heart, Capital, Capital Xtra, Radio X, Classic FM, LBC, Smooth and Gold – to raise money for disadvantaged young people across the country.

Smooth and Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway said: “This is what’s brilliant about the job that we have … Our job is to communicate to people, all sorts of things, whether it be on Smooth or TV, you’re there to communicate all sorts of issues. Sometimes you’re delivering bad news but when you do things like this, you’re giving a lot of hope and doing something positive.”

Talking about Good Morning Britain’s latest addition, TV personality and journalist Piers Morgan, she said Piers has “got such a huge personality and he’s a brilliant journalist”.

“I’ve known him for a lot of years and he just brings all of his Piers Morganness to the mix,” she added.

Auction prizes on the evening included a private dinner with magician David Blaine, a tennis lesson with Tim Henman and tickets to VIP events like the X Factor Live final, the Baftas and the 2016 Wimbledon Men’s Final.
