THREE apprentices have started work at York’s new visitor attraction Chocolate – York’s Sweet Story.
Steph Miller, who is working towards a NVQ Level 2 in customer service, Robyn Berry, who is doing a Level 2 diploma in retail skills and a Level 2 certificate in retail knowledge, and Luke Mellanby, who is doing a Level 2 diploma in food and beverage service, are among the 25 people who have been employed by the new venture.
Candidates for the roles, which include retail and guest experience duty managers, a head chocolatier, several confectioners, commercial assistants, were auditioned in an X-Factor style to give them the right environment to shine.
Jenny Tutty, operations manager, said: “We’re really pleased with the dedication and hard work we’re seeing and everyone is already proving to be of great value to the company.
“Our apprentices are doing really well and we’re working hard to implement thorough personal development plans to ensure the very best is achieved throughout each of their careers.”
