YOUNG people with learning difficulties or disabilities have the chance to learn more about education and work at the second annual York opportunities fair.
The event, on April 1, provides information about courses and careers for those who have reached the school leaving age. It will feature a market place with information stands and taster workshops which can be booked in advance.
In addition, there will be details about what people with learning difficulties and disabilities have achieved. Organisers hope the workshops will raise young people’s aspirations about what they could do.
Parents and carers of people with learning disabilities and difficulties can also attend, and specialist advice sessions are part of the fair.
The fair was attended by 240 people last year. This year’s event will be held at York St John University.
