VOLUNTEERS and paid staff are needed to help run a National Trust property in the shadow of York Minster.

Next Friday and Saturday, the Treasurer’s House will be holding open days to try and recruit voluntary and paid workers.

Lisa Holden, visitor services manager, said: “As we prepare for 2015, we will be looking for more volunteers and paid roles to support across all areas of the house. You don’t need to be a history buff to be part of the team.

“Whatever role is of interest, we are looking for people who are able to deliver exceptional service, every time, for everyone — from serving the perfect lunch to sharing the stories of the fascinating Frank Green.

“In return, volunteering or working with us can offer people the chance to develop or learn new skills, give something extra to their social life or simply enjoy spending a few hours a week in a fantastic, historic setting.”

The recruitment open days will be held from 11.30am to 2pm. Giving people of all ages and experience an opportunity to chat to staff and volunteers about what it is like to be part of the team at this historic house and garden.
