A NORTH Yorkshire MP has lent his support and encouragement towards further construction apprenticeships.
Harrogate and Knaresborough MP Andrew Jones has attended a House of Commons parliamentary reception with Ryan Ezzard; a construction apprentice from his constituency.
This reception was hosted by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), an organisation that helps ensure construction employers are well trained and funded, whilst maintaining industry standards.
Mr Jones wanted to support a new Apprenticeship Commission, to investigate and improve the quality of construction apprenticeships.
Mr Jones said: “Construction offers some wonderful career opportunities for young people in Harrogate and Knaresborough and it’s been great to be here today to meet Ryan and find out more about his experience.”
Ryan said: “It’s good to see how important apprenticeships are to construction and hear about plans for the future.”
