Firefighters were called out to Newlyn Harbour in the early hours of this morning after reports of a fire onboard a fishing boat.
Two fire appliances from Penzance fire station were drafted in to help tackle the flames at 2.20am.
A fire service spokesman said: "The vessel 17 metres in length and with a gross weight of 17 tonnes had a fire in the engine room. The fire was extinguished by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using one hose reel."
