YORK’S marathon man will be returning to running to tackle this weekend’s Yorkshire Marathon.
Simon Buckden who used to be based at York’s Imphal Barracks, ran 51 marathons in 70 weeks to raise awareness of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) last year.
He originally set out on a 100-marathon challenge, but stopped in January to focus on setting up new charity Positive Action For PTSD.
Now he is making a comeback to carry on raising awareness, and the Yorkshire Marathon will be his return to the challenge.
Simon’s fiancée and co-founder of Positive Action for PTSD, Louisa Rodriguez, will be running alongside him to highlight the way PTSD affects friends, families and loved ones, as well as sufferers.
