A SHOPPING centre in York has created its own tribute to the upcoming Grand Depart, by unveiling a giant yellow jersey – on its roof.
The winner of each Tour de France traditionally wins a yellow jersey, and the 40 square metre structure on top of the York Designer Outlet is sure to catch the eye of overhead cameras covering next month’s event.
The centre is an official spectator hub for the Grand Depart, with a big screen up on Sunday, July 6, for visitors to watch the race, and craft fayres and sports demonstrations also taking place over the weekend.
