FASHIONISTAS will be strutting their stuff all over York from today.

The second Fashion City York begins today with a fun-packed programme including “live windows” showcasing the latest trends in city stores as well as a “Fash Mob” at 3pm in St Helen’s Square.

People are being invited to dress in their most stylish outfits and parade around the city centre for the Fash Mob event, which will be filmed by local company, Spinning Top Films.

Tomorrow, action switches to the riverside, with a “fashion village” in the Pitcher & Piano featuring fashion and beauty stalls while from noon until 4pm a swishing event is planned at City Screen, where people can swap their unwanted but stylish clothes for £1. The Audrey Hepburn classic, Funny Face, will be shown at 5.30pm in a special screening for Fashion City York.

Tickets are also available for next Saturday’s StyleFocus, a fusion of fashion and food in the Fountain Café marquee from 7.30pm to 10pm, hosted in conjunction with the Food And Drink Festival. Admission costs £15 with tickets available online at yorkfoodfestival.com
