COULD these pictures be the latest vision of York’s Community Stadium?

These images – put together by Holmes Miller Architects – have been unveiled by City of York Council as part of the procurement process for the construction of the proposed 6,000-seater new home for York City and York City Knights.

They are meant to provide an initial idea of how the stadium could look, so other firms can work with the outline or produce new alternatives of their own.

Earlier this week, The Press reported how a latest report on the Monks Cross-based stadium revealed that construction will not begin until June 2014, to be finished by June 2015 – a delay on previous projections.

A council spokeswoman said: “It must be stressed these are not necessarily what the end product will look like. It’s about providing a high quality design to show bidders that what we want is a quality offer to set the bar high for this development.”
