THE father of Claudia Lawrence, the York woman missing for three years, will meet a team of cyclists who are raising awareness of missing people.

Peter Lawrence will welcome the team, who are cycling from Edinburgh to London, when they stop off in York tomorrow.

The independent charity, Missing People, offers a lifeline when someone disappears, and recently launched 116 000 as the new number to call about missing persons in the UK.

Peter said: “It is great to be involved once again, to see the work that Missing People is doing to support those who have gone missing, or who have been affected by the disappearance of a loved one.

“The search for Claudia is still continuing, as it is for many others who are missing, and I am touched by the dedication of these cyclists which is a reminder of tremendous effort Missing People’s supporters make, to get more people to join the search.”
