LINDEN Homes are preparing to make a lot of noise about their Pilgrims Rest development – with lots of razzamatazz and all that jazz…

To help celebrate the official opening of the site’s showhome, Linden are rolling out a jazz band and providing Pimms to go with the entertainment.

Which all sounds very jolly hockey sticks and very English…

A bit like the development itself. An upmarket collection of only ten detached homes in a range of individual styles in Howden, Pilgrims Rest has already attracted considerable interest.

Five of the houses have already been snapped up ‘off-plan’ and the Linden team expect that the showhome will help make up the minds of ‘floating buyers’.

Prospective purchasers will still enjoy off-plan benefits, however, including the chance of personalising their home with the choice of styles and colours of fixtures and fittings, including bathroom tiles and kitchen units.

As to the house styles, themselves, here is how they line up…

The Linthorpe: You will be able to have a look at this one for yourself at the opening as this is the showhome style. Here you will find a quite brilliant kitchen/dining family room layout stretching the length of the back of the house and with a row of bi-folding French doors leading out to the garden (there is also a cloakroom and utility room).

There is more space to be had in the shape of a large (20ft-plus) lounge with dual aspect windows. On the first floor there are four bedrooms, two with en-suite facilities and a house bathroom with separate shower cubicle.

It’s a big house for the money with a total floor space of some 1,830sq ft (oh, and there is an integrated double garage). The Linthorpe style is priced from £349,950.

The Clervaux, meanwhile, is a detached house which has a super layout with lots (and lots) of rooms on the ground floor which include a modern kitchen with utility room and cloakroom, a sunroom with French doors to the garden, a long hallway off which there is a large lounge to one side and a study and a dining room to the other.

Upstairs the master bedroom has an en-suite, as does a guest bedroom and two other double bedrooms are served by a house bathroom. It has a double garage and south-facing rear garden (or at least the one we looked at did). Prices start at £449,950.

The Lastingham style has a kitchen/dining area and living room, both boasting bi-folding and French doors. Of the four bedrooms, two have en-suites with the master also enjoying a dressing area. Prices begin at £489,950.

And finally, the ‘big daddy’, the three-storey Riseborough style home which boasts an awful lot of space. The open plan living room and kitchen/family room both have French doors opening to the garden. On the first floor two of the three bedrooms have en-suites and there is a house bathroom serving the other. And there is yet another bathroom to the second floor serving a further two bedrooms.

A brilliant family house, with prices from £579,950.

Howden is a bustling East Riding spot which has seen its local amenities, including shops, bars and restaurants, boosted in recent years following the arrival of the Press Association in the town. It is ten miles from Selby, 25 from York and has a rail station with direct connections to London.

• The Pilgrim’s Rest showhome launch day takes place on Saturday August 9 between 11am and 5pm (jazz band up to 2pm) when the marketing team will be out in strength to show you what is on offer at the development. Further information from 0844 644 7063 or at
