Fancy a beautifully-styled show home – complete with all fixtures and furniture? Brian Page has just the thing…

THESE are anxious times in the Page household. My darling wife has been preparing a mental shopping list.

“Now we’ve got the house decorated we need to look at a few things,” she mused the other evening over white wine and celebrity falling about on ice or whatever it’s called.

“We could do with replacing these old armchairs for a start...”

Panic set in.. the last time she had this kind of musing I lost my wellloved old sofa. I went away on a working weekend and when I got back it had gone, replaced by a smart but ridiculously inadequate imposter of a settee.

That was 15 years ago and I am still fretting.

What you need, I replied, is a lovely brand new house, complete with beautifully-designed interiors and with everything in place from furniture and fittings down to cups and saucers – and all just out of the wrapping. And where, she replied with more than a hint of cynicism, are we going to find this ideal dream home?

And so the next day we headed up Tadcaster Road to visit the Revival development where Shepherd Homes have just released their Epsom-style show home for sale – complete with all those aforementioned furniture and fittings and brilliant designer décor.

And it really is a dream home, with big rooms, lots of space, high-spec fittings and a beautiful finish. Stroll around with us and see…

The ground floor has a superb breakfast kitchen with high-quality wall and base units and integral (and nicely-disguised) appliances including fridge/freezer, dishwasher and in-built double oven as well as a five-ring gas hob – all arranged around a large breakfast island area.

It’s nice and light, too, thanks in part to folding doors opening out onto a patio area and lawned garden beyond. Folding doors onto the garden feature, too, in the house living room, another romp of a room with inset large screen television/entertainment unit. And there’s more.

The ground floor also boasts a smart dining room with bay window to the front and a study. Up the stairs and you come to the master bedroom where – and I promise this is true – I said a sudden and unexpected ‘wow’.

Not only is there a large area for the biggest of beds but a dressing area with fitted his-and-hers wardrobes and then onto a large ensuite shower room. Brilliant!

This floor also has another bedroom with en-suite shower room, a third bedroom and a house bathroom, while on the top floor there are two more double bedrooms served by a shower room.

A great home, so you will not expect it to come cheap, especially with all those extras thrown into the deal – so perhaps with so much on offer £549,995 is not really out of the way.

Putting the show home up for sale coincides with Shepherd releasing properties in phase four of the Revival development – a range of styles in four, five and six-bedroomed houses over two or three floors with prices ranging from £449,995 to £549,995 and points in between.

Work, we’re told, is going on apace, great crested newts in their mating season permitting... and there’s a story for another time!
