FANCY a room with a view over the Vale of York – along with two farmsteads and a renowned sporting estate?

If that’s not enough to whet your appetite, perhaps the 780 acres of land, the luxurious swimming pool and courtyard with enough garages to house half a dozen vehicles might tempt you.

All this could be yours – if you can afford the £12 million price tag.

Millington Grange Estate, on the Yorkshire Wolds, has come on the market in what agents Carter Jonas describe as “a landmark opportunity” to acquire a large rural estate which is suitable for mixed farming enterprises and of renowned sporting value in Yorkshire.

The agricultural and sporting estate in the village of Millington, near Pocklington, comprises a mix of productive arable land, grass and dale, and is naturally free draining chalk suitable for growing arable crops.

A secure gate leads to a floodlit private driveway and courtyard with six garages, and the large main house which was completed in 2006. The Grange, as it is known, includes six bedrooms, dining and entertaining rooms, plus leisure facilities including a swimming pool and gym.

There are also two farmsteads, High College Farm and Cold Skin Farm, which are run in conjunction with other land, and collectively make up the Millington Grange Estate.

Both these farms have grain storage facilities and modern, adaptable buildings. As the home of the award-winning, pedigree “Millington Herd” of Limousin cattle, the additional buildings offer livestock housing plus high-quality cattle handling facilities.

Millington Grange Estate also operates an established high bird pheasant shoot, which provides about 30 days per season.

It has also installed two micro-wind turbines which generate power for consumption as well as sale to the national grid.

Andrew Fallows, a partner at Carter Jonas in York, said: “It is not often we see both a lifestyle and investment opportunity come to market such as this. Millington Grange Estate not only offers diverse agricultural revenue prospects but also superb sporting value.

“The principal house, as well as the two farmsteads, has been developed to high standards to serve these multiple purposes.”

Millington Grange Estate is for sale with a guide price of £12m through Carter Jonas.
