Forget the X factor, award-winning Redrow’s new heritage collection has the wow factor, says Brian Page.
NEVER mind I’m A Celebrity, The X Factor or even Strictly Come Dancing... as far as developers Redrow are concerned, the really big competition this month was the What House? Awards at the Grosvenor Hotel in London.
Having already picked up a gong for best marketing campaign of the year in an earlier competition, the Redrow team was named as Best Large Housebuilder at a glittering awards ceremony.
A naturally delighted sales and marketing director, Kim Peters, was thrilled with the win at the industry’s ‘Oscars’ evening. “Our current advertising campaign highlights the pride we invest in creating highquality homes which our customers can enjoy living in… to have this recognised independently is very rewarding.”
The What House? judges were particularly fulsome in their praise for the company’s New Heritage collection – which we’ve also admired here in our own New Homes supplement on a number of occasions.
They reported: “New Heritage, largely detached two-storey family homes, takes its architectural lead from the Arts and Crafts movement, with projecting plinths, dropped eaves, larch lap-boarding and bay windows. But the properties also have high specification interiors and kerb appeal. Not only has the range sold, it has repositioned the Redrow brand, cementing its middle market profile, without neglecting the affordable housing sector.”
Golly, that’s even more gushing than our own purple prose when reporting on the Redrow New Homes collection at Saxon Court in Sherburn in Elmet earlier this year.
Just as a little reminder, here is what is on offer at the development...
It is a mixed range collection of homes, offering three and four-bed properties in a quiet rural village location, yet within easy striking distance of major commuter routes.
There is a good range of different house styles available here, but, as an example, you could take a look at the ‘Cambridge’ show home.
This is a super house which features a clever balance of family living areas with enough room for parents and kids (and visitors, for that matter) to find their own space.
On the ground floor, there is a brilliant open-plan kitchen/dining/family room with well-defined cooking, eating and relaxation areas). There is a utility room and a cloakroom off here. And there is a good-sized formal lounge.
Plenty of space upstairs, too, where the master bedroom has an en-suite and there are two more doubles and a single bedroom, along with a family bathroom.
If you don’t need quite so much space, then have a peek at the three-bedroomed Warwick, which still provides plenty of room across two floors in the shape of a dining kitchen, a separate lounge, cloakroom and laundry room downstairs and a master bedroom with en-suite and two more bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs.
We really liked the Arts and Craft style on offer with this one – from a traditional bow bay window to the front to the high gable rooftop.
We suspect you’ve now got the idea… these are cleverly-designed homes representing traditional-looking exteriors with smart, modern interiors.
And, with prices starting at £219,999, they represent decent value for money.
If you’d like to find out more, then you can visit the marketing suite at Moor Lane, Sherburn in Elmet (open Thursday to Monday, 10am – 5.30pm), or contact the sales team on 01977 278024.
