We recently played host to visitors “from away” who spent the entire weekend telling us how beautiful York was, how great the city centre was, how lucky we were to be able to live in such a beautiful part of the world.

While exhausted by this enthusiastic onslaught, we had to admit they had a point.

Sometimes we just don’t realise how lucky we are.

If we did need yet another reminder it came last week when we put together an eyecatching series of city centre rental apartments ideally located to enjoy the treasures of the city centre.

This week we have more of the same – which shows, in part, just how lucky we are in York to have so many apartments for those who love urban life.

So, let’s get on with the second half of our town collection.

Beginning with a pair on offer from the books of Linley and Simpson. The first is an unfurnished two-bedroom first- floor apartment in Buckingham Court, Bishophill.

This one boasts an entrance hall and smart kitchen, equipped with with fridge, washing machine, electric double oven and hob. There’s a lounge/diner, one double bedroom with built-in wardrobes and one single bedroom and a family bathroom.

Linley and Simpson are also offering an unfurnished ground floor apartment in Mayfair House, Piccadilly (and you can’t get much closer to the city centre than that).

Not to be outdone, Martin and Co have a lovely, new one- bedroom apartment in Cordwainers Court in the new Hungate development. Here we have an entrance hall with wooden flooring and intercom, a fabulous open lounge (with patio doors) and a superb fully fitted luxury kitchen (with appliances and polished granite work surfaces and a trendy breakfast bar). A double bedroom with storage and bathroom and secure allocated parking completes the package, which is offered at £625pcm.

And finally, rounding off this two-part series, Quantum offer up a first-floor apartment in Rosemary Place, Navigation Road. This fully furnished large property sits within the city walls, a few minutes walk from the centre of town. Here you will find a good-sized lounge, kitchen and two large bedrooms and bathroom. Off-road parking is available through council permit. It is let fully furnished at a rental of £625pcm.
