CHARLOTTE PERCIVAL casts an eye over charming period properties among the streets of York and North and East Yorkshire.

FASHIONS may come and go, but period homes have never fallen out of favour with home-buyers.

For example, Redmove is marketing a four-bedroom period terrace in Main Street, Stamford Bridge.

This home stands in extensive rear gardens, includes plenty of period features and is priced at £440,000, with no onward chain.

The original part of the property is thought to date back to 1760, but extensions have been added over the years and it is now a spacious and well-maintained home.

Inside, you will find a sitting room with a feature Inglenook fireplace and a wood-burning stove, a family room, a dining room with a feature brick fireplace and a sun room.

The breakfast kitchen has a range of Moben oak base and wall units, under lighting and an integrated dishwasher, while the shower room has a walk-in shower cubicle, a WC and a wash-hand basin.

Upstairs, there are three bedrooms, a study and a bathroom.

There is off-street parking to the front and a garden to the rear, which is mainly laid to lawn with flowers, shrubs and a timber structured building with power and light.
