ON MAY 15 I heard on television that NHS accident and emergency departments are on the point of collapse and will be lucky to survive another six months because of public demand and staff shortages.

Wind turbines not needed here at all

Why the secrecy?

WHAT is it with City of York Council and secrecy? They purport to be open and transparent but seem to go to any lengths to prevent full and frank information being published. Crucial reports backing up the New Local Plan are still not available and delays and misinformation on housing delivery have been scandalous.

I’VE recently visited Haxby’s new café, Chestnut Kitchen, with a friend. We enjoyed a lovely cup of coffee and were made to feel very welcome. Haxby also has two other cafes, Aroma and No 50, both offering friendly service in pleasant surroundings.
