There is nothing free about all this

SO ENERGY prices are to rise substantially this winter, instigated by leading supplier British Gas.

They cite one of the main causes for the increase in tariff rates to be “environmental reasons” and I heard a TV news item where the British Gas spokesperson stated they needed extra revenue to stay in business and to pay for all the environmental improvements being made to dwellings throughout the UK on a Government incentive.

I am having additional insulation installed in my home free any day now so I guess I am paying for all this ‘free’ stuff through my increased bills. Is our benevolent government right to claim we have these environmental improvements free?

• IT WAS bound to happen, as sure as night follows day, that the energy companies would put up their tariffs.

The Government sits back and watches as the public are ‘robbed blind’ on the excuse of imminent cold weather, world shortages, etc. Come the end of the financial year, what’s the betting all of power suppliers will announce huge profits (again)?

Sadly I don’t know the answer as to how to beat them. Maybe if we all said “enough is enough” and refused to pay?

Get yourself a log burner, that will keep the heating bills down. On the other hand, why are we needing extra insulation and heating with all this global warming, the reason for all this infrastructure?
While Joe public goes along with this rubbish we will continue to be scammed.
Bring on the Shale gas.

Remember, "Global Warming" doesn't exist anymore! The Americans did a rather hasty change of name when everybody in the UK said "ooh global warming, that sounds nice as this country is quite cold" followed by messages such as "what happened to global warming?" every time it snowed... so now the Americans would rather us call it "Climate Change" because apparently we'll be the only place in the entire world to get colder and wetter weather because of some element in the periodic table that makes up a fraction of our atmosphere and is much less today than it was in Roman times, and at a time now when ice in Antartica is growing.

Our own fuel prices cannot be regulated as they are controlled by foreign energy giants outside of British governmental control, and you can thank the Tories for privatising our energy for that - I think the only other country in the world where that has happened is Argentina, everybody else has governments who actually know what their doing rather than going for the "quick money now" option. However, the "green taxes" placed onto fuel bills by our government who has bought in to the big american con can be reduced - but they won't be.
