Housing needy one-nil down

LAST year a tree was to be demolished and people came from miles around to protest and sit in the tree to try and prevent its demise. There was radio, television, local and national press.

You could not watch or read news without it being in your face.

At the time of writing there are up to 200 units of affordable housing on the nurses’ homes near Bootham Hospital site being demolished. I cannot vouch for any newts on site, but I would bet money there are bats just settling down for their last hibernation.

And the response from Call Me Dave’s Big Society: Zilch.

Well at least it may stop that Matthew Laverack from thinking that just because you talk sense you will be listened to.

Congratulations: Lunatics 1, affordable housing needy 0.

5 million buys a lot of builders and their efforts.......money put back into the community..and the local economy....people spending is GOOD but your letter isnt anything to do with any of that is it. No, and we all know why . Its just your reason to have another whack at Mathew laverack. Yes it is and we all know it. You really take the biscuit with your venom towards him............WHY? pray tell, did he shoot a robin in your garden or something or run over your cat ? and by the way its still cracking the flags in the Algarve. Hope it is for the next 2 months

Take deep breaths next time you feel one of those attacks coming on. Hope you are calmer now.

Anyway, happy to see that you and Coun Simpsion Laing are of one mind on this matter. She argued for renovating the flats too.

As for me, I have no opinions on the matter one way or the other. However I understand the site is to be redeveloped so there will be plenty of work for builders anyway

Oh, one other thing, I never mentioned Matthew Laverack, you did.

Unless Barry Rennison is Matthew Laverack or Matthew Laverack is a former nursing home, it's hard to see how Jezreel is "having another whack" at the great man.

Trees are much more important than houses, and people are right to care about one, and not give a t*ss about t'other.

People should live in trees, like monkeys - many are ? !!!!!

I cannot believe anyone can post such stupid comments winter is aproaching and people are struggling to find somewhere to live and the red turd suggests they live in trees it about sums up bitain today.
