Wasteful party political system

OUR country will continue to bump along the bottom until the wasteful party political system is replaced by something better.

A vote every five years and no say in between is not democracy to most people’s minds. Changing governments, one spends half its term and energy undoing what the other team does.

The saga of Andrew Mitchell would have hardly been in the news years ago. Labour always leaves the country with no money, but it is proving harder for the Tories to balance the books because of Gordon Brown’s and Ed Balls’ scorched earth policy.

Now the Tories want to put electoral boundaries on a fair footing, but Labour, who have a 20-seat advantage, and Nick Clegg are against this.

In effect, Nick Clegg could well be the man who alters the course of British history in influencing the course of the next election – democracy!

And with what would you replace it? Communism; Fascism; Absolute Monarchy; Dictators for Life ... ?

How about a coalition of Independents. The smaller the Parliament the easier the decision making.
Interesting Peter mentioned Nick Clegg. It was him who spent valuable time on issues such as the gender of future Monarchs, rather than focusing on the state of the nations finances and of course a disastrous energy policy.
Out of touch politicians? What's new?

Hmmm. Despite the title of the letter, something tells me that the writer is not totally against all parties equally!
