Huddling together

BETTER late than never was my first thought when I read in The Press on October 9 that the council is to go out and sell our great city to inward investors.

The Hiscox investment strengthens our city’s growing status as an insurance hub and is most welcome.

Businesses in the same sector tend to huddle together. Just look at how York became the centre of the chocolate business. Targeting sectors is, therefore, the way forward and I hope that the council develops a clear focus.

Of course, speedier planning decisions, less road congestion, more housebuilding and lower council tax also helps.
