Brownie points

WITH regards to Max and Bob’s letters concerning the price of pork pies at the food and drink festival, in Leeds indoor market, you can buy four pork pies for £1 and three tins of mushy peas for 99p.

Four meals for £1.99 sound good to me.

• WHY pay 75p for a chocolate brownie or similar small cake from a York bakery when one can pay £1.50 for the same item from a stall at the York Food and Drink Festival. That is certainly food for thought.

Dale Edwards, Newborough Street, Bootham, York.

Why are we getting so many letters on this issue? Nobody forced you to buy these products if you thought they were too pricy.

A porkpie with a splat of mushy peas. A meal? I dont think so. Thats snackage to me.

also surely you have to question how they make that Pork pie worth just 25p and still be profitable?

Mass production of a low quality produce.

My Dad, a retired butcher always says "if meat is cheaper than dog food, it generally is".

However, I'd say that most of the stalls put a premium on their prices as they were at the food market.
