It's the council and councillors who should hold their hand/s up - for their monumental failure with housing and housing policy. Instead they blame the banks, and the building societies and the government, in fact, anyone but themselves. It's obvious to all that are paying attention, that the council have failed with housing, and they will continue to fail until they change their AH policy.

Buzz, this is not the first time he has slipped up. I have criticised Matthew and had a response from the Pimp saying things like "how dare you call me ....etc"

You missed John Reeves, Tony Feetenby, *Martin Rodgers, Allan Charlesworth, Geoff Robb, Ian Reynolds, Tony Conroy, and Len Spray. All of these (except * 2011) have written letters to the Press in 2012, objecting to the Council's affordable housing policy, and none of them are Matthew Laverack !

There are a growing number of York residents who are voicing their discontent with this policy, whereas the only supporters of it are two councillors (Simpson-Laing and Merrett) plus a handful of ex and current politicised council officers.

Letters against outnumber letters for by a ratio of about 4 to 1.

The evidence is there, if you do your homework.

All the while there are no houses getting built, lots of sites that have been flattened and fenced off for years, a few buildings have lain empty for as long as i can remember. I seem to read more stories about buildings/sites being turned into HMO's and lots of bluster about housing deals etc but not any houses actually getting built. Its been slow for a good few years now and there must be obvious reasons for this. Is the story the same up and down the country or is it unique to York?

The picture is not the same elsewhere. It is far worse in York than almost everywhere else. The council are doing their best to cover up the facts, but, they will be uncovered, and the council's deception will be exposed.
